About
It's hard to believe in hindsight, but by the time Sinatra hit the '50s, his career already seemed to be winding down. Swing Easy! helped boost what turned out to be a remarkable comeback, pairing him with the arrangements of Nelson Riddle for a set of jazzy, lighthearted standards that fixed the image we have of him today. As always, Sinatra’s peculiar gift was being able to leverage a hint of shade against even the sunniest material, making songs like “Get Happy” and “All of Me” sound like products not of naiveté but experience—the good time made that much better by having weathered the bad.
