"Svantes Viser" is originally a book by Benny Andersen published by. Povl Dissing had performed one of the poems "Brev Fra Dig" in a radio broadcast in the late 60's. Based on this Benny Andersen invited Povl to record the ballads just prior to releasing the book. Agreement was made, that Povl did not perform as the character Svante, - but just performed "the posthumous works of Svante".
