Stealin' Home is the ninth solo album by singer/songwriter Ian Matthew. Recorded at Chipping Norton Recording Studios in Oxfordshire, Stealin' Home was the result of Matthews' first recording sessions in the UK since 1973. According to the Discogs website, the album has been released no less than 32 times on vinyl, cassette and CD since its original release, more than any other Ian Matthews album in his entire career. The original vinyl album was released in 1978 on the Rockburgh Records label in the UK (ROC 106) and on Mushroom Records (MRS-5012) in the US. Two tracks on the album were hit singles for Matthews: "Shake It", a Terence Boylan song released in November 1978 which became his biggest American hit reaching #13 in the Hot 100, and "Gimme An Inch Girl", a cover of a Robert Palmer song which reached #67 in the Hot 100. .
