About

Recreating the feeling of an intimate nightclub appearance with its understated production, this subtle collection puts Vaughan's soaring voice center stage, right where it belongs. Throughout, she shows off her range, bending the low notes on "Lullaby of Birdland," trading tremolo-rich solos with trumpeter Clifford Brown on "He's My Guy," and slowing it down for the exquisite melancholy of "Jim." This collection of standards is a testament to The Divine One at the height of her vocal powers.
