About
London trio Faithless pioneered a new kind of British dance music on their debut LP, where laconic trip-hop meets trance, and 2 a.m. euphoria entails a lonely kitchen comedown. At the beating heart of Reverence are its bold synth motifs—the glistening tick of “Insomnia,” the frenetic strafing of “Salva Mea”—but they’re given extra weight by Maxi Jazz and Sister Bliss’ soul-searching lyrics about doomed love and the fate of the world. The result is a timeless rave sermon.
