About

Kosheen's debut album pushed Bristol's bass music legacy boldly into the new millennium. You can hear echoes of Portishead and Massive Attack in their melancholy atmospheres, which are fleshed out with acoustic guitars and hints of dub, while the beats flit between trip-hop and rolling drum 'n' bass. There's a little something for everyone here: tear-out breaks for dancers, moody strings for dreamers. And then there's singer Sian Evans and her almost spookily soulful voice; she's an absolutely magnetic presence from start to finish.
