About
Rarities is a compilation album performed by The Beatles and released by Parlophone in 1978. The purpose of Rarities was to give listeners an album with songs which were not easily accessible. The album was initially included in The Beatles Collection, a box set featuring The Beatles' twelve studio album. It was issued as a standalone album in 1979. The album features the so-called 'wildlife' version of "Across The Universe," obscure B-sides (e.g, "I'll Get You"), songs from the Long Tall Sally EP, and the German versions of "She Loves You" and "I Want To Hold Your Hand" ("Sie Liebt Dich" and "Komm, Gib Mir Deine Hand," respectively). While the original album was released exclusively in the UK, a second album called Rarities was released exclusively in the US. This album featured a completely different cover art and track listing. .
