Rainbow Rising by Blackmore's Rainbow

Rainbow Rising is a Rock album by Blackmore's Rainbow, originally released in 1976. On Gatefold: 259 pressings tracked, owned by 45 collectors.

About

Rainbow’s second album consolidated the creative bond between Ronnie James Dio and Ritchie Blackmore, pushing them to condense and polish their hard rock. “Tarot Woman” is a bed of riffs and sudden dynamic shifts—some tiny, some huge—while “Stargazer” stretches that approach, creating an epic, preening grandeur. “Starstruck” chugs and swings and “Run with the Wolf” prowls and menaces while the merciless pell-mell pounding of “A Light in the Black” takes the band into a startlingly intense finale.

The second studio album by the band, released in 1976. For this record, Ritchie Blackmore fired the entire backing band except for Ronnie James Dio, anchoring the new lineup with drummer Cozy Powell and keyboardist Tony Carey to create what many fans consider the definitive Rainbow lineup.
Often hailed as a masterpiece of heavy metal, the album is celebrated for its epic scale and technical precision. The centerpiece of the record is the symphonic track "Stargazer", which featured the Münchner Philharmoniker (Munich Philharmonic Orchestra) and cemented the band's legacy in neoclassical rock.
