"Radar Love" is the band's 19th single. Although written at a time the band was at a personal low, it became one of the band's signature songs that is still played on radio stations across the planet today.
The single features a 5:04 edit; the full 6:26 version can be heard on their ninth album, Moontan. American promo singles have an even shorter 2:53 version of the song.
Chart runs:
- Netherlands: 13 weeks, starting August 25, 1973, peaking at 1.
- Belgium: 13 weeks, starting September 15, 1973, peaking at 6.
- Germany: 28 weeks, starting October 6, 1973, peaking at 5.
- United Kingdom: 13 weeks, starting December 8, 1973, peaking at 7.
- United States: 20 weeks, starting May 11, 1974, peaking at 13.
The band originally chose the non-album song "The Song Is Over" to be the B-side. This is the B-side found on most releases from continental Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
In the UK, US, Canada and Japan, "Just Like Vince Taylor" was used as the B-side, as that song was left out there on Moontan (in favour of a new version of "Big Tree, Blue Sea"). This pairing was also released in the UK by in 1986.
In Poland, a one-sided 6" flexi-disc was released with just "Radar Love".
Most promo singles featured the song on both sides.
