About
Power Metal is the fourth studio album by heavy metal band Pantera, released in 1988 on Metal Magic Records. The album showcases a style closer to thrash metal rather than hard rock, which formed the basis of the band's previous three albums; although traces of glam metal can still be heard.

The Band's 4th Album
Released V 1988.
This was Pantera's final "Metal Magic" era album (and the only one from this period to be officially released on Compact Disc). Afterwards, the band experienced Total Style Changeover (opens in a new tab), which resulted in dissolution of Metal Magic Records.
Pantera's first (and only "Metal Magic" era) album to feature Phil Anselmo on vocals. Ironically, Diamond Darrell's vocal style on "P*S*T* 88" resembled Terrence Lee's much more closely than Anselmo's ever did.
Track B1 is a re-recorded version of track B1 from their previous album "I Am The Night".
"Proud To Be Loud" was Pantera's only song (not counting the covers) to be written by someone else than the band itself. In this case, it was written by Marc Ferrari from Keel.
