Paper is a Rock album by Rich Robinson, originally released in 2004. On Gatefold: 5 pressings tracked.
About
Rich Robinson’s solo debut contains plenty of the Southern-fried boogie that helped catapult The Black Crowes to rock stardom. Yet Paper, on which he plays nearly every instrument, also finds him boldly exploring new terrain. “Enemy” and “Leave It Alone” are built from John Bonham-style shuffles, artfully layered harmonies, and churning distortion that has more in common with grunge than with freedom rock. Robinson then shows off his taste for the eccentric with “Oh No,” a shambolic mix of psych folk and art pop featuring trippy backward guitar and droning vocals.
