Stephen Thomas Erlewine, writing for Allmusic, gave the album three out of five star, claiming that it "is missing a key ingredient -- charm", additionally commenting on its "lazy" sound. Despite thi, he maintained that "there's several tracks that rank with the best songs on the debut". .
