National Ransom by Elvis Costello

National Ransom is an Alt/Indie album by Elvis Costello, originally released in 2010. On Gatefold: 9 pressings tracked.

About

Elvis Costello took the template of Secret, Profane & Sugarcane and ran with it on this 2010 follow-up, again grafting his English sensibility to Americana. On the thrilling title track, he tunefully sneers at the rich and powerful over a thumping beat and stinging electric guitar. When he turns down, Costello hits at heart level, whether getting frisky on the sweet, shuffling “A Slow Drag With Josephine” or deepening his voice and thickening the emotion on the breathtaking ballad “You Hung the Moon.”
