Mythologies

About

Released under the prestigious French classical imprint Erato Records, this recording was conceived as the score for Mythologies, a ballet commissioned by the Opéra National de Bordeaux. Scored exclusively for symphony orchestra—strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion—the work deliberately eschews electronic resources, reaffirming the composer’s commitment to the expressive power of traditional instrumentation. The music draws its lineage from the grandeur of Baroque masters such as Jean-Philippe Rameau, Vivaldi, Bach, and Monteverdi, while simultaneously channeling the hypnotic pulse of American minimalism epitomized by Steve Reich and Philip Glass. The result is a striking synthesis: a contemporary orchestral language that bridges centuries of musical thought, offering a score both rooted in history and alive with modern rhythmic vitality.
