Notably, this album was not produced by Creed Taylor, and as per the credits it was produced by Helen Keane. Keane was Evans manager from 1963 until his death. Creed Taylor and Gene Lees encouraged Keane to produce Evans after Taylor had produced Conversations With Myself and shortly after left Verve to go start Impulse!. Evans was still contracted to Verve.
Tell tale signs the album was not produced by Creed Taylor are the lack of his signature on the sleeve and labels.
