Sound DNA

  • Rock

Miss Butters shares the same producer, arranger, studio, session musicians, sleeve artist, and an adjacent RCA catalog number with Harry Nilsson's 'Aerial Ballet (US 1968) (opens in a new tab)' (LSP 3956). Nilsson co-wrote 'Butters Lament', and made his own recording of the song as 'Miss Butters Lament' (unreleased until 1995 (opens in a new tab)). According to Bob Segarini (opens in a new tab), he, Vann Slatter, and "Kootch" Trochim had played piano, drums, and bass, respectively, on Nilsson's "Cuddly Toy" [possibly a demo version?]. Nilsson also married Diane Clatworthy - president of the Family Tree Fan Club - in 1969.
