About
MC Solaar introduced himself to the French public with his insouciant rap flows on his 1991 debut album, <i>Qui sème le vent récolte le tempo</i>, adopting the American hip-hop style but expanding its scope with candid stories of navigating life as a Black man living in Paris’ suburb. Three years later, the MC sealed his position as France’s rap ambassador with the acclaimed <i>Prose Combat</i>, perfecting a deft fusion of jazz and hip-hop that was bolstered by his effervescent aura. .
