The original LP version of "Mama Gave Birth To The Soul Children" was remixed by CJ Mackintosh and John Waddell as "The New School Mixes" ("The Infant Mix", "The Primary Mix", "The Secondary Mix") for the UK and European markets, as well as Peter Lorimer ("Open University Mix / The Open University Remix", "The Open University Remix Instrumental") for the U.S. and Canadian markets. These were essentially done to create more danceable versions of the song for use in clubs.
Note: The B-side "Latifah's Law (Out Of School Remix)" remixed by Tony Humphries and produced by Louie Vega appears exclusively on the Canadian 12" version (opens in a new tab) and has not yet been made available on any other known release.
