About
La Oreja de Van Gogh come into their own with this 2003 release full of powerful balladry and Latin rock fusion. Fronted by the pixie-voiced Amaia Montero, the rocking quintet deliver perfect pop hooks on “Puedes Contar Conmigo” and the tear-jerking gem “Rosas.” These songs about love are rendered with an unusually literary flair. But beyond the group’s impeccable songwriting, it's the carefully deployed synths, hushed vocals, church bells, and subtle electronic flourishes that really make Lo Que Te Conté a warm-hearted wake-up call.
