Lo-Fantasy by Sam Roberts Band

Lo-Fantasy is an Alt/Indie album by Sam Roberts Band, originally released in 2014. On Gatefold: 13 pressings tracked.

About

On his sixth full-length album, Juno-winning singer/songwriter Sam Roberts offers a hard-grooving, eclectic demonstration of lyrical smarts and experimental vigor. Produced with Martin “Youth” Glover (Beth Orton, The Verve, Crowded House), every song on Lo-Fantasy has a distinctive character—from the soaring chorus and London Calling-inspired backbeat of “Shapeshifters” to the poised, synth-driven groove of “Metal Skin.” The string-adorned dance-rock track, “Chasing the Light,” features one of the album’s most memorable hooks and a battery of vintage synths and drum machines. Throughout the endeavor, Roberts’ sharp lyrics and wiry guitar lines make Lo-Fantasy a triumph. The deluxe edition adds additional remixes that demonstrate the flexibility and creativity of one of Canada’s most gifted songwriters.
