Recorded on their 1977-78 U.S. tour (with a couple tracks from 1973), <i>Live! Bootleg</i> shows Aerosmith at the height of their sleazy rock ‘n’ roll powers. There’s a wealth of early hits here, including the wild “Back In the Saddle,” which starts things with Steven Tyler screeching, “I’m back!” The chunky blues riffage of “Walk This Way” electrifies, and “Dream On” features a wicked Joe Perry solo. And their take on James Brown’s “Mother Popcorn” is a funky, groove-laden dream.
