This album was recorded in its entirety at the Newport Jazz Festival on July 7, 1963. The Newport Jazz Festival is produced by George Wein.
Liner Notes:
"The glee club you hear in some of these numbers is Dave Pike, who, in the great tradition of Arturo Toscanini and Erroll Garner, "sings" while playing vibes. It is not George Wein."
Runouts are etched, except for the MGM Custom Pressing [Block-shaped S] logo, as well as the 3 and the P (which are all stamped.)
