About

Robbie Williams made his name as a member of the towering boy band Take That, but his first solo album embraces a different type of Britpop. The title track and the expansive “South of the Border” echo the shaggy rock that helped rocket Oasis and Blur to worldwide stardom. But <i>Lens</i> isn’t all fun nights at the pub: The sweeping “Angels” showcases Williams’ big-tent emoting, while “Baby Girl Window” is a tender piano ballad.
