About
Mystikal proves himself to be one of the most consistently electrifying Southern rappers of the Y2K era on his fourth album. There are four Neptunes productions here, and the duo’s weightless funk gives the rapper’s riotous flow room to flex; Mystikal slices and dices his way through “Shake Ya Ass,” ad-libbing like the Dirty South James Brown. Da Brat and Petey Pablo match his intensity on the bouncy “Come See About Me,” and “Neck uv da Woods,” with Outkast, is pure Southern smoke.

At least half of the album was recorded shortly before July 1999, as Mystikal recorded these tracks with the intention of releasing this album for No Limit Records as "Let's Get Ready To Rumble" with a Pen & Pixel Graphics front cover. However, the album kept being pushed back so once his side contract with No Limit Records dissolved sometime in early 2000, he released this album with some newer tracks on it as "Let's Get Ready" for Jive Records on September 26, 2000.
