Existing errors in the album
Lady Day: The Complete Billie Holiday on Columbia 1933-1944, CXK 85470, US 2001
The errors have not been corrected on any of the three reissues from 2009, 2011 and 2013
Most of the errors consist of mixing up the track numbers on the discs 9 and 10 but there are also more serious mistakes.
Three alternative takes are identical with the master takes and another take is not the correct alternative.
The missing complete takes on the four albums are
Track 8.22 23469-1 ‘ I’ve Got A Date With A Dream’
Track 10.1 28874-2 ‘St. Louis Blues’,
Track 10.2 28875-2 ‘Loveless Love’ and
Track 10.16 31005-2 [or -3] ‘Gloomy Sunday’
These four takes can be found on the three CD’s Media 7: MJCD 61, 90 and 102.
Yet another alternate is not acknowledged at all:
20507-1 'I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm' (as found on Columbia CL2426 (album C3L40), and on Media 7 MJCD 11.
All five are also reissued on the single album:
Rare Tracks From The BHD, Vol.1 (1935-1941).
Until recently, it was found in the shop on the site Billie Holiday Discography.
