About
"La Máquina de Hacer Pájaros" is the debut studio album by the Argentine progressive rock band of the same name, released in 1976 through the Talent Microfón label. After the breakup of Sui Generis, Charly García decided to abandon his adolescent lyrics and begin creating more elaborate music and different lyrics, continuing in the direction already established on Sui Generis's final album. The album is considered the most expensive in the history of Argentine rock, and the cover was designed by Juan Oreste Gatti, who would also contribute to the design of the band's next album. Argentine cartoonist and humorist Crist created the comic strip for the album cover, in which the protagonist introduces the band, defining them as "a progressive bird.".
