La La Land (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) by Justin Hurwitz

La La Land (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is a Soundtrack & Scores album by Justin Hurwitz, originally released in 2016. On Gatefold: 29 pressings tracked, owned by 20 collectors.

About

Justin Hurwitz’s original score derives inspiration from the film’s jazz club settings. Hip vibraphone and acoustic bass introduce “Classic Rope-a-Dope” before muted brass and a pirouetting flute join in on the swanky fun. In “Mia & Sebastian’s Theme,” the romantic feel is strewn with bravura piano improvisations, hinting at an appreciation for Art Tatum. The film’s Hollywood elegance is emphasized with orchestral interludes, as on the grand and swooning “Planetarium.”
