About
There are few rock 'n' roll intros as distinctive as the snarling guitar riff that leads off "You Really Got Me." With its hip-shaking verses and crazed chorus, it wasn't just The Kinks' breakthrough single, but a warning shot to signal the British Invasion. The band's debut lays out how the boys from Muswell Hill got to that point—from the noisy R&B rave-up "Beautiful Delilah" to the jangly stomp of promising early Davies brothers originals like "Stop Your Sobbing."
