About

Kat Moda EP is a 1996 EP by Jeff Mill, released on his Purpose Maker label. The record is a defining statement of Mills’ mid-1990s minimal Detroit techno phase, emphasizing precision, repetition and functional DJ tools over melody or narrative. The EP features four tracks — The Bell, Kat Race, Alarms and Cyclone — all built around stripped-down rhythmic structure, sharp percussive elements and controlled use of space. These tracks became staples in Jeff Mills’ DJ sets and are widely regarded as some of the most influential examples of loop-driven techno designed for long-form mixing. .
