Karma Chameleon was once thought to have been lifted from the 1959 tune "Handy Man" Handy Man / The Search Is Over in which a lawsuit sparked by Otis Blackwell and Jimmy Jones regarding the Karma Lyrics sounded like or being very similar to their 1959 hit. The lawsuit was settled out of court and Boy George claims he never heard of their tune and was not trying to steal anything,
