Sound DNA
- Electronic
Originally released as a cassette-only compilation in West-Germany in 1984, and reissued on CD in 1988. It was notable upon release for containing four non-English language songs. Three of them hadn't been issued outside of 7" singles in a few select territories and wouldn't resurface again until ABBA's back catalogue got digitally remastered. The Spanish version of Chiquitita was previously available on the all-Spanish album Gracias Por La Musica and was included in the compilation Oro (Grandes Éxitos) in 1992.
The title and artwork of this compilation was reused for the Malaysian bootleg 2-CD set International (Malaysia) (opens in a new tab), which expands on the concept of ABBA singing in other languages significantly. Despite the apparent similarities, that 2-disc release only has four tracks in common with the earlier German compilation it is mimicking.
