Originally released in 1982, "Hot In The City" was re-issued in 1987/1988 with different remixes on the 12"s and different B-sides on 7"s.
The 1982 12" Extended Mix is commonly listed with a duration of 5:30 on labels, but is actually closer to 5:20 and ends with an instrumental fade-out
The 12" Exterminator mix that first appeared on the Vital Idol compilation in 1985, and was later re-released as a single in 1987 is identical to the original 12" Extended mix, except for it has a hard ending with just Billy's vocal repeating "hot, hot hot..." to fade
The 7" version has a duration of 3:30 and is the same as the album version
