About
Cloud Nothings’ 2012 album Attack on Memory found the band taking a hard left turn from cheerful noise-pop into something far more abrasive and nihilistic. Striking a balance between hooks and harshness, pop magnetism and pure angst, Here and Nowhere Else is about as graceful a next step as you could expect. They deliver anthems like “Just See Fear” and “I’m Not Part of Me” with just enough nastiness and desperation that you can almost feel the fire the band passed through to come out sounding so decisively on top.
