About
Recorded for a 1994 MTV special, the Eagles' first reunion album boasts 11 strong live performances and four new studio tracks—all showing the band in fine fighting form. Live highlights include a gutsy, edgy version of the strutting rocker "Life In the Fast Lane," a Latin-flavored acoustic version of "Hotel California," and a haunting take on the elegant piano ballad "Desperado." The bluesy, slide-guitar-charged "Get Over It" and wistful "Love Will Keep Us Alive" reveal the strength of the band's new material.

'Hell Freezes Over' was given its name in reference to a quote made by Don Henley.
After the band had split up, when asked if the band would ever get back together, Henley responded "when Hell freezes over".
Hell Freezes Over was released after a fourteen-year-long break up when The Eagles got together to perform live for the first time in April 1994 at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California for an MTV special.
At the beginning of this concert, Glenn Frey announces: "For the record, we never broke up; we just took a 14-year vacation".
The band's lineup was that of The Long Run era: Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Don Felder, Joe Walsh, and Timothy B. Schmit.
Hell Freezes Over album was released on November 8, 1994.
The album is the band's second live album, after Eagles Live.
It contains four new studio tracks and eleven tracks recorded live.
Hell Freezes Over is also available in video formats here:
The DVD also featured the song "Seven Bridges Road" (in DTS audio only), which was not included in the Vinyl or CD format releases.
