Album notes

Discogs page for these notes (opens in a new tab)

Despite the misleading sub-title, Gold Turkey is not a compilation of "greatest hits." At least not in the sense that any of the material had been on any previously released LP. Gold Turkey is a stand-alone album of its own merit which came out in the wake of the National Lampoon Radio Hour, broadcast weekly from November 17, 1973 to December 28, 1974. The 5 albums released from this time onward were created entirely, or partly, material from the radio show, including Gold Turkey, which states as much right on the jacket.
