About
HEALTH’s second album is a combustible mix of industrial heaviness and heart-stopping beauty in which buzz-saw guitars and pummeling drums collide in a white-hot explosion of pure ambient tone. “Die Slow” shows off their full powers as a rock band, suffusing danceable drums in stuttering keys, bright sheets of guitar, and ethereal vocals—and “Nice Girls” pushes those shoegaze tendencies even further into the red. The squealing frequencies of “Death+” have more in common with avant-techno, while the shredding, feedback-soaked “Severin” is straight-up post-hardcore.
