About
As much as any album in history, this one solidified contemporary Christian pop as a genre with real staying power—not just commercially, but creatively. On a musical level, Green pens gentle yet insidious pop hooks that rival anything from the Carpenters or any late-‘70s folkie you care to name. Lyrically, the songs are more forceful—both in eschewing evil and praising the Lord. His signature song, the sweetly devotional “Your Love Broke Through,” is one highlight among many. Green died at 28, but this album ensured a long legacy.
