'Fire It Up' is the third studio album by American musician Rick James (featuring The Stone City Band. The album was released on October 16, 1979 by the Motown owned Gordy Record. It was produced by Rick himself. It contains the US R&B #13 (US Dance #32) hit - "Love Gun" where everytime Rick's (supposed) lover wants to meet Rick, she should shoot him with her "love gun" The album peaked at #5 on the US R&B Charts (#34 on the US Charts) and was certified Gold by the RIAA .
