Feathers by Dead Meadow

Feathers is a Rock album by Dead Meadow, originally released in 2005. On Gatefold: 9 pressings tracked.

About

Music as heavy as Dead Meadow’s is often accompanied by growling and caterwauling vocals, but Jason Simon’s gentle croon doesn’t quite adhere to the formula set by his stoner-rock brethren. On their fourth album, the Washington, D.C. trio combine monster riffs and gnarly solos with a dreamier vibe steeped in shoegaze and psychedelic influences. Even the grinding “Get Up On Down” boasts softer shades, as does the folky “At Her Open Door”—until it climaxes in a raging freak-out.
