Familia is a Pop album by Sophie Ellis-Bextor, originally released in 2016. On Gatefold: 9 pressings tracked.
About
The singer pulls off her most eclectic set yet with elegance and creative daring. Sophie Ellis-Bextor once embodied sophisticated dance-pop but 2014’s Wanderlust made a foray into dark folk moods. Landing between the two, her sixth album has dancefloor synths sparkling off pastoral melancholy (“The Happiest Sadness”), and beautiful, mariachi-tinged balladry (“Hush Little Voice”) sitting alongside compulsive disco (“Come With Us”). Whatever the mood, her crystalline voice accentuates thought-provoking lyricism and adhesive tunes.
