About

"Fame" is the second studio album by Grace Jones. It was released on July 14, 1978. Just like on her debut album, Portfolio, side A is a continuous Tom Moulton-disco medley, with a total running time of 18:47. As Portfolio opened with "La Vie en rose", side B on "Fame" also opens with a French language cover, Jacques Prévert's "Autumn Leaves (Les Feuilles Mortes)". The Canadian edition of the original vinyl album included another French language track, "Comme Un Oiseau Qui S'envole", which, in most other territories, was issued as the B-side of the single "Do or Die". In Italy, the song "Anema E Core" was included on the album. The album was a hit on the American dance scene, rocketing into the top 10 on the dance charts. The "Do or Die"/"Pride"/"Fame" side reached #3 on the U.S. Billboard dance club play chart. Gold Legion, a record company that specializes in reissuing classic disco albums on CD, re-released it on the format in November 2011, remastered and with no bonus tracks.

"Fame" is the second studio album by Grace Jones, released in June 1978 by Island Records.
The album reprises the formula of her debut, with Tom Moulton on production, an A-side playing as a disco suite and the B-side opening with a disco version of a French classic, this time Jacques Prévert / Joseph Kosma "Les Feuilles Mortes".
The album was released with territorial variants:
• the Canadian edition - Fame (Canada 1978) (opens in a new tab) - includes a French language number, "Comme Un Oiseau Qui S'Envole" replacing "All On A Summers Night"
• the Japanese edition - Fame (Japan 1978) (opens in a new tab) - has "Comme Un Oiseau Qui S'Envole" replacing "Below The Belt"
• the Italian edition - Fame (Italy 1978) (opens in a new tab) - includes an Italian language song "Anima E Core" instead of "Below The Belt"
