About
Arena-sized melodies and yearning emotion combined to unlock the big time for British rockers Snow Patrol on this expansive fourth album. Frankly, it’s easier to find a song that isn’t borne by uplifting harmonies and propulsive guitars. “Hands Open” revives the snarly stomp of their early releases, “Shut Your Eyes” dabbles with choral call-and-response, and “Chasing Cars” (bearing the clear imprint of U2-approved producer Jacknife Lee) is a masterclass of cinematic scope.
