About
Extrapolation is the debut album by Jazz guitarist John McLaughlin. It was recorded at Advision Studios in London on January 18, 1969 and first released later that year by Giorgio Gomelsky's Marmalade Record. The album was not released in the US until 1972, following McLaughlin's success as the leader of the Mahavishnu Orchestra. The first US release and all other subsequent re-issues are on the Polydor Records label. * John McLaughlin – guitar * Brian Odgers (incorrectly named "Odges" on the album notes) - bass * Tony Oxley – drums * John Surman – baritone and soprano saxophones .
