The Ella Fitzgerald & Nelson Riddle Gershwin Songbook project has been released in various ways and formats. This Master Release is for the complete 5 volume LP set and re-releases of the complete set.
Do not add same titled singular volumes or partial songbook to this master release. Do not add variations of the earlier Ella Fitzgerald & pianist Ellis Larkins Gershwin songbook releases.
The Ella Fitzgerald Sings the George and Ira Gershwin Songbook was recorded with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra in 1959. Riddle arranged 59 Gershwin songs for the album, including two orchestral suites. These are omitted on some versions of the complete songbook. Other tracks are omitted on some versions, alternate tracks added on others resulting in various numbers of tracks on the releases, but usually not less than 51 tracks.
