About

This massive collection of b-sides, cover songs, Peel Sessions, remixes, and unreleased tracks tells the Soundgarden story from a fascinating angle. Though their studio albums were carefully crafted projects, <i>Echo of Miles</i> reveals the band’s looser side. Whether it’s songs that landed on compilations (like “Birth Ritual” for the <i>Singles</i> soundtrack and “Sub Pop Rock City” from <i>Sub Pop 200</i>) or their many amazing covers (like The Rolling Stones’ “Stray Cat Blues” and The Stooges’ “Search and Destroy”), Soundgarden were far ahead of their competition as the premier hard rock band of the late ‘80s and ’90s.

Notes from the original pressing. Later editions may differ.

Taking in everything from original B-sides to unreleased tracks, instrumentals, covers and demos, the collection was curated and hand-selected by guitarist Kim Thayil, who says:
“As album sets go, this one has been fun to collect and compile over the decades. I personally may have referenced this project a number of times over the years, going back almost twenty of them to the mid-nineties!”
For the first time, Echo Of Miles collects and curates all these “scattered tracks across the path”
