About
On his sixth album, Marilyn Manson dials down the brazen industrial tendencies in favor of macabre, gothic-rock mood pieces plagued by self-loathing. "If I Was Your Vampire" is a portentous dirge that employs doom-drenched guitars and lurid imagery to portray a codependent relationship, while the twisted riffs and funereal organ sounds of “They Said That Hell's Not Hot" set the backdrop for a reflection on the destructive nature of love.
