Did I Shave My Legs for This? is the debut album of American country artist Deana Carter, released in 1996. It features her breakthrough debut single "Strawberry Wine", a Number One hit on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks (now Hot Country Songs) charts at the end of that year. "We Danced Anyway", "Count Me In", "How Do I Get There", and the title track were also released as a singles. Of these, "We Danced Anyway" and "How Do I Get There" were also Number One hits. Did I Shave My Legs for This? is Carter's highest-charting album to date, and her only album to chart in the Top 10 on the U.S. Billboard 200. The original version of "Did I Shave My Legs For This?" was released in the UK on the Patriot label in 1995. Deana Carter wrote (or co-wrote) all of the 12 songs on this version, which was also released in Australia. The US version, released on Capitol Nashville in 1996, included only three songs from the original. Five of the 11 tracks were written by others, including "Strawberry Wine" which became Carter's signature song. The Capitol Nashville album was released on vinyl for the first time in 2017. In 2021, Capitol Nashville released a remastered "25th Anniversary Edition", which included new recordings of the title track and "Strawberry Wine". A "Deluxe" version on streaming services includes the original UK album as "Volume 2". (The tracklist above is from the US version of the album.)
