About
Late-’90s R&B was sorely lacking in girl groups when Texan teens Destiny’s Child came up—and they changed the game almost instantly. The group’s gossamer harmonies and wise-beyond-their-years attitude shine on hip-hop-tinged tracks like the flinty Wyclef Jean team-up “No, No, No (Part 2)” and the skeletal Master P duet “With Me Part II.” Sparkling ballads like the swooning “Second Nature” and the delicate “Killing Time” tug at listeners' heartstrings while hinting at the group’s massive potential.
