About
Desertshore is the third studio album by German musician Nico, released on December 20, 1970, through Reprise Record. The album incorporates elements from Western traditional pop, unlike its predecessor, The Marble Index. One of the song, "Janitor of Lunacy", was composed as a tribute to her friend Brian Jone, who had recently passed away. The album's cover features stills from the film The Inner Scar by Philippe Garrel, in which Nico, Garrel and her son Ari Boulogne starred, and some of the album's songs were included in the film's soundtrack. .
