"Dancing Queen" is considered to be ABBA's signature song. Originally released in 1976, a few months before the album "Arrival", it was a worldwide number 1 hit. The 1992 release (opens in a new tab), coinciding with the release of "Gold (Greatest Hits)", was a sizeable hit as well and marked the beginning of the ABBA revival.
On which release the 'backwards B' ABBA logo first appeared is unclear. The "Dancing Queen" single, with the new logo, was officially released 16 August 1976, but chart positions suggest the single came out in the Netherlands, West Germany and Switzerland in the last few days of July 1976. The "Golden Double Album" compilation also featured the new logo and was officially released 26 August 1976, but was apparently released in Belgium in late July 1976.
